I Am Innocent Why Was I Listed?

Anyone may be listed as a suspected child abuser on CACI if that person has ever been investigated, or even falsely reported (by a divorced spouse), as a suspected child abuser. CACI lists people as suspected child abusers in cases in which the police did not even have probable cause to arrest the person. No court or administrative hearing is required before a person is listed as a suspected child abuser. California’s courts have plainly stated that entry in the CACI index is not a determination that a person has committed child abuse. A person may be listed on CACI after criminal charges are dismissed for lack of evidence or after discovery that a child abuse report was false or incorrect.
